July 1, 2006

DENVER – July 1, 2006 – Colorado Urology Associates and Western Urologic Associates will legally merge to form The Urology Center of Colorado (TUCC), effective July 1, 2006. TUCC will officially open on January 1, 2007.

TUCC will serve as the only fully inclusive urology center in the Rocky Mountain region. The facility will feature a state-of-the-art clinic, including radiology and pathology services, a comprehensive cancer center, patient wellness center, research department and ambulatory surgery center. This inclusive center is designed to treat all urologic conditions. The nearly 60,000 square-foot facility is located just north of Invesco Field.

“TUCC was originally conceived in January 2004 to provide patients with complete urologic care at one location,” said Richard Augspurger, M.D., TUCC medical director. “As physicians, we see delays in patient care far too often and the TUCC model will eliminate them, resulting in better and more efficient medical care.”

Urologists from Colorado Urology Associates and Western Urologic Associates, along with one double board-certified radiation oncologist/urologist, will make up the TUCC physician team. Colorado Urology has served patients at Presbyterian/ St. Luke’s Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, Porter Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital and Craig Hospital for more than 32 years. Western Urologic has served patients for 35 years at Lutheran Medical Center, North Suburban Medical Center, St. Anthony North Hospital and St. Anthony Central Hospital.

Patients will continue treatment at Colorado Urology and Western Urologic until January 1, 2007. For more information about Colorado Urology, please call 303.861.8444 or 303.788.6292.
