–Cancer Survivorship – From Primary Care to Oncology and Back Again –
The Urology Center of Colorado is proud to partner with Surgical Specialists of Colorado, Denver Heart and Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology to present the 9th Annual State-Of-The-Art Symposium. Every year these specialty practices gather experts in a specific area of healthcare and invite primary care providers from around the region to attend the event.
“For 2018 we are focusing on the journey of cancer patients that begins with primary care and traverses through many specialities, and then returns to the care of their primary care provider,” states Donald May, M.D., urologist at The Urology Center of Colorado. “Bringing all of the healthcare providers together that care for a cancer patient enables everyone to understand what the patient experiences at each stage and provides insights to primary care providers on what their patients need after cancer treatment.”
This year’s line-up includes experts in breast cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, nutrition, genetics and the Radioactive Ironman, Steve Cooper, a world record-setting prostate cancer survivor.
In addition to outstanding presentations, complimentary breakfast and lunch, primary care providers who attend will receive free continuing education credits from: CME/AAFP Credit Hours, CNE Contact Hours, and COPIC Points.
2018 also brings an exciting venue change, this year’s symposium will be hosted at the Broncos Stadium. Attendees will have the option of taking breaks outside in the stands with an amazing view of the football field.
“For the 9th year this educational event is free to primary care providers,” says Dr. May, “and the connections made between providers is invaluable.”
