Meet Our Providers

Kari Reynolds Wedell is a nurse practitioner at TUCC specializing in pelvic pain in both women and men. She worked for nearly 10yrs with Dr. Nel Gerig in Denver, CO sharing care of patients in the practice until Dr. Gerig’s retirement in 2022.

Kari’s passion is the treatment of lumbopelvic pain disorders and pelvic health in a holistic, comprehensive and interdisciplinary manner. Conditions treated include pudendal neuralgia, pelvic floor muscle spasm and dysfunction, vulvodynia/vulvar vestibulitis, chronic vaginitis, vaginismus, interstitial cystitis / painful bladder syndrome, recurrent UTIs, painful urination/defecation, dyspareunia/painful sex conditions, urinary urgency/frequency, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and other manifestations of pelvic and low back pain. She performs pudendal nerve blocks, trigger point injections and bladder instillations if these treatments are necessary.

Kari graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and is board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Her undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, American Holistic Nurses Association and the Denver Sexual Medicine Alliance. She has taken numerous courses on pain neuroscience education and attended conferences to stay up to date on the latest pelvic pain research.
