Men's Pelvic Health Seminar 10/21/2020
Relating the Pelvic Floor to Pain and Other Problems
The pelvic floor muscles and the relationships these muscles have to other parts of our body are important, and often overlooked contributors to low back pain, hip, perineum, and pelvic pain. Potential pelvic floor problems may manifest as follows:
- Persistent pain in the abdomen, hips, low back, groin, prostate/penile/bladder regions, or perineum.
- Burning, tingling, or nerve signs after sitting, especially after sitting for biking, working, or long periods of time
- Difficulties with bowel, bladder, urinary control, or penis,
- Involvement in diagnoses such as levator ani spasm, hard flaccid, pudendal nerve problems, IC/PBS or more
Learning about the pelvic floor and the connections to this group of muscles may help you manage and prevent the above listed problems. This will also enhance your knowledge of the low back, hip, thoracic spine, and sacral regions. Join us in our monthly Men’s Pelvic Health Seminar to learn the anatomy, physiology, normal and not so normal of this muscle. Learn how to take care of your pelvic floor, identify when it’s necessary to seek medical care, and how to use breathing, stretching, and stabilization to protect and heal your pelvic region.
Our seminar is conducted via a HIPAA-compliant virtual platform. Information will be provided upon registration. Each session is led by a specialized Doctor of Physical Therapy and will include time for questions and answers.
