Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Colorado today. The good news is that deaths from it are down. That rate could be even lower if more men were tested.

TUCC physician, Jesse Mills, M.D., was recently featured on 7News at 4:00 p.m. in recognition of national Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Mills spoke of the importance of early detection through annual prostate cancer screenings and the strides that are being made every day in the fight against this disease.

This year, prostate cancer is expected to claim the lives of at least 28,000 men. It's the second most common cancer in America after skin cancer, but it's also considered one of the most curable if caught early.

Legislators screened for prostate cancer
On Wednesday, April 23, TUCC physicians and staff were honored to host a prostate cancer screening at the Colorado State capitol. House and Senate members received PSA examinations and prostate cancer educational materials. In addition, the House passed Joint Resolution 1025, designating September as National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. 7News at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm captured all of the excitement.
Nene returns to the hardwood
As Denver Nuggets forward Nene returned to the court last night after a two month absence, TUCC physician David Ragan, M.D., was interviewed by CW2 on his treatment and fast recovery.
