Clinical Research at TUCC
Our research department supports our commitment to excellent patient care by offering tomorrow's therapies today.
TUCC participates in all phases of clinical trials. Clinical trials are designed by physicians and researchers for patients who volunteer to participate in the testing of new medical therapies. These trials are sponsored by pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies. Depending on the study, clinical trials may give patients access to new investigational drugs and methods of care as the efficacy of new treatments is determined.
The safety and privacy of clinical trial participants are protected through the FDA, the governing agency for all medical research, and independent Institutional Review Boards (IRB), that review and approve all clinical trial related documents and procedures.
TUCC is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology Clinical Trials Consortium (SUO-CTC). The SUO-CTC is a national alliance of leading academic and community based urologic oncologists committed to furthering urologic research. TUCC is one of only 11 large urology groups in the country to be awarded acceptance into the SUO-CTC.
