The Urology Center of Colorado Foundation Launches
Recognizing a need to provide urologic patients in Colorado and local communities with assistance, The Urology Center of Colorado (TUCC) has announced the formation of The Urology Center of Colorado (TUCC) Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) public charity.
TUCC Foundation’s mission is to advance urologic care in the Rocky Mountain region through advocacy, research, education and support. To do so, the Foundation has created five different programs:
- Community Outreach Fund: Through this fund, TUCC Foundation makes needed contributions to the community and other foreign and domestic charitable organizations.
- Educational Outreach Fund: Through this fund, TUCC Foundation strives to raise awareness of the importance of annual screenings and healthy lifestyles through various programs.
- Employee Emergency Fund: This fund allows TUCC Foundation to provide assistance to TUCC employees who have experienced a catastrophic life event.
- Patient Assistance Fund: Through this fund, TUCC Foundation provides monetary assistance to families in need that include one or more individuals who have been diagnosed with a urologic illness. Grants are given to pay for critical, non-medical financial responsibilities.
- Research Fund: This fund supports medical and urologic specific research that improves urologic cancer and non-cancer diagnoses, standards of care and treatments.
TUCC Foundation’s Board of Directors is comprised of TUCC physicians, staff members and local community members. The continued maintenance of a community based board will allow the Foundation to remain attuned to the needs of various Colorado communities.
“By establishing our different programs, TUCC Foundation is able to not only improve the health and well-being of Coloradans, but also of individuals nationwide,” said Richard Heppe, M.D., TUCC Foundation board president. “With continued funding for research and education, TUCC Foundation will build a coalition dedicated to raising awareness of urologic diseases and finding ways to improve cure rates.”
