TUCC utilizes on-site intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), 3-D conformal planning and prostate brachytherapy seed implantation treatment methods for patients diagnosed with urologic cancers. Board certified radiation oncologists, Dr. Eric Gross and Dr. Reginald Westmacott, oversee the delivery of radiation therapy to TUCC patients. Dr. Wesmacott is also board certified in urology, making TUCC one of the few urology practices in the country to have a dual certified physician on staff.
The implementation of high technology devices and techniques allows TUCC physicians to accomplish procedures quickly and with decreased patient recovery time - patients can typically return to the comfort of their home on the same day of their outpatient procedure.
Go to Overview
TUCC is one of the only centers in the U.S. to offer on site, comprehensive radiation therapy for urologic cancers. Radiation therapy can be used as a primary treatment option for prostate and bladder cancers or as an additional form of treatment following surgery in selected patients.
Go to Radiation Technology
TUCC physicians lead the region in performing prostate and urologic robotic surgery, having performed more than 2,500 of these procedures since 2006. By utilizing robotic technology, a surgeon's hand movements are motion scaled and any hand tremor is filtered resulting in perfectly translated, precise movements of the instruments.
